UPS – Uninterruptable Power Supply

Typical UPS can provide DC power supply as well AC with high frequency inverters in order to downsize the conversion form factor, and to meet with light weight design. To do this as an inverter, it normally uses full-bridge transformer isolated topology to generate square-wave signal and then smooth into 50Hz AC voltage via power chokes and feed into general grid or downstream loads. It depends on material conductivity and insulation voltage of a component’s structure that whether could be applied for the choke or filtering. And of course, with the consideration of power efficiency as well.
